Accent Training Program

Main goal of the program: help and support attendees in the process of modifying their language skills so that their speech gradually becomes more understandable to a native American-English speaker and their listening skills are considerably improved.
How
The target language being Standard American English (the language of radio and television in America) we propose working on 3 interrelated areas.
1.
Pronunciation
Brief but focused contrastive analysis of Standard American English and River Plate Spanish sounds through awareness of articulatory differences and oral practice.
2.
Intonation
Training in the basic intonation patterns typical of spoken English.
3.
Fluency
Knowledge of those relevant elements of connected speech which should be considered when acquiring or correcting appropriate/reliable speaking skills: .
Stress and rhythm
Paralinguistic features (loudness, tempo, etc)
Patterns of simplification (weak forms, elisions, linking, assimilations etc.)
 
This program is available as a:
3 hour WORKSHOP
15 hour program.
40 hour program (this program includes american culture issues).
Required Level: Upper intermediate.
